Best Albums (2008)

It's taken me a while to compile this list of the best albums from 2008, as I needed to figure out which were actually released in the year, and then I needed to have a listen to them!
It was also difficult deciding how large to make the list, as so many stellar albums were put forth in 2008. I had settled on the number thirty, as with ten, it was too narrow, and forty was too broad. Though thirty is an odd number, I found it just right for the list.
So, in no particular order, I have enclosed my list of the best 30 albums in 2008!

30. The Airborne Toxic Event - Airborne Toxic Event

29. Modern Guilt - Beck

28. In Silico - Pendulum

27. Innerpartysystem - Innerpartysystem

26. Santogold - Santogold

25. Dear Science - TV On The Radio

24. Diamond Hoo Ha - Supergrass

23. Do You Like Rock Music? - British Sea Power

22. Day & Age - The Killers

21. Strength In Numbers - The Music

20. Here We Stand - The Fratellis

19. You & Me - The Walkmen

18. Apocalypso - The Presets

17. Off With Their Heads - Kaiser Chiefs

16. Dig Out Your Soul - Oasis

15. 4:13 Dream - The Cure

14. Made In The Dark - Hot Chip

13. Hold On Now, Youngster... - Los Campesinos!

12. Elephant Shell - Tokyo Police Club

11. Partie Traumatic - Black Kids

10. Fantasy Black Channel - Late Of The Pier

9. Glasvegas - Glasvegas

8. You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into - Does It Offend You, Yeah?

7. Oracular Spectacular - MGMT

6. Antidotes - Foals

5. St Jude - The Courteeners

4. This Is An Emergency - The Pigeon Detectives

3. Music For An Accelerated Culture - HADOUKEN!

2. Cage The Elephant - Cage The Elephant

1. Intimacy - Bloc Party

Honourable Mentions:

Fizzy Pop - Towers Of London

In The Future - Black Mountain

Midnight Boom - The Kills

Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend

Most Disappointing Album:

Only By The Night - Kings Of Leon

(I know loads of people love this album, but I found it doesn't even hold a candle to the greatness that is Youth & Young Manhood and Aha Shake Heartbreak.
Will the REAL KoL please rise?)

There ya have it...the albums I thoroughly enjoyed in 2008.
Happy listening in 2009!
